The Base

The Base features a covered shopping centre (Te Awa) and large format retailing with over 150 stores. Easily accessible via train and bus, and close to the Waikato Expressway, The Base is a favourite destination for Hamiltonians to shop and enjoy. 

Located in Hamilton's fast-growing northern suburbs, The Base is well placed to benefit from the increasing number of people moving into the area. We have a large strategic landholding, offering the scope to create a thriving mixed-use community, with potential for office and residential to be added over time. 

We're focussed on finding new ways to make The Base more sustainable. In late 2022 we began working with Waste Management and MyNoke on an innovative programme to reduce the amount of food waste being sent to landfill. Waste is now processed at a regional Wormfarm site where millions of hungry worms reduce the rubbish volume by about 80% to create a valuable natural resource and significantly reduce our environmental footprint.
